RACEWORLD SYNDICATES

                                                                   Raceworld_logo

Our Raceworld syndicates have been running successfully for over 20 years now with many original members still involved. Racing brings together like-minded individuals which lead to lasting friendships.

Raceworld colours have been carried by many winners. The likes of Connect, who was a consistently competitive Saturday sprinter, Locum, Comrade Bond, Zenarinda and Hold Firm's dam Four Miracles, who won twice at York, are all good examples of genuine fun horses who continued giving members pleasure for several seasons. The winning colt, Hold Firm (see below), continues in the same mould always giving his best.

The Raceworld sydicates are a great way to be involved with owning a share in a racehorse without breaking the bank. The exhilaration of having a winner is unbelievable and unforgettable. Mike Jenkins (see below) has run the syndicates for years, and is both very approachable and knowledgeable. He keeps all the Raceworld members informed about the horses and organises visits to the yard whenever members want to come. The yard is extremely friendly and Mark is always welcoming and ready to discuss the Raceworld horses during members' visits.

Raceworld membership can make a perfect gift for someone special in your life.

Horses for 2017:

At present this year we have two exciting new two-year-olds, a colt and a filly, plus Hold Firm who is already a triple Raceworld winner and is always so reliable.

As you can see this colt is strong and attractive. He has a very relaxed, easy walk and moves like a dream when cantering. He is a three parts brother to Marvo who was by Bahamian Bounty, the sire of Pastoral Pursuits, and won five races. He is a half brother to three other winners - Astrodonna won four races including at York and is now a broodmare; Merolicio won twice in England before becoming a multiple winner in the Middle East including winning Group races; Mystic Wind won her maiden first time out very impressively, but sustained an injury at home and never ran again.

His sire, Pastoral Pursuits, was a top rated sprinter who won the Group 1 July Cup and is the sire of many top class horses including Pastoral Player and Rose Blossom. His stock are very precocious and genuine. Both Mega and Pastoral Pursuits have the speedy Mansingh and Sing Sing in their pedigrees.

I highly recommend this colt.

Update - 14th October:

He came back fine after his latest run at Chelmsford where he hated the kickback early on and was never in contention at any stage. That was his second run though and he needs another one to gain a handicap mark. I will be getting him out in the next two to three weeks once again and will try and find a race for him on the turf before the end of the turf season. He may benefit from being cut, which we will discuss after his next race. He has a great attitude to life and will give us plenty of fun and improve again considerably as a three-year-old.

This filly is well grown and attractive with plenty of scope. She is a very good mover, and like all the mares's offspring, both strong and correct. Her dam, Trew Class, was the most genuine race mare. She won four times including at Sandown and York. We had some great days with her and this filly looks capable of similar achievements. She is half sister to multiple winners including the two lovely fillies Kathleen Francis and Jennifer J.

Her sire Pastoral Pursuits has a great record with his offspring and comes from a very speedy family. Trew Class has the extremely fast Ahonoora as her grandsire, and her dam was by the multiple group winner Polish Precedent. Northern Dancer is in both pedigrees, as is the influential sire and brilliant racehorse, Bold Lad. We think so much of this filly that we are sending her dam, Trew Class, back to be covered by Pastoral Pursuits again this season.

I have always loved this filly from when she was a foal and I anticipate that she will make into a  very useful racehorse.

Update - 14th October:

Joey Haynes rode her this week in a piece of fast work over 6 ½ furlong Across The Flat. She moved and galloped very well and is now ready to be entered to run. The experience of the racetrack will do nothing but bring her on, and that is what she wants. A big scopy filly, like all of them out of that family, she will not be at her best until a three-year-old, but we can have two or three runs this autumn and will get plenty of experience into her and a handicap mark before the 2018 season.

 Hold Firm

Update - 11th September:

Hold firm travelled to Ireland last week and I will keep in close contact with the farm and let you know his progress in his next life.

Testimonials:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute I have spent as a part of such a fantastic yard... a special thanks must go to you Mr Jenkins... you know your job and are always on hand to answer any questions."

"Saying that it was the best day of my life would be to understate how I felt, one or two people thought I was having a heart attack when he crossed the line in front. I was more in danger of that when we got on the champagne."

"I'd like to take this opportunity to express my deep and sincere gratitude to all at the yard , and to you in particular, for your constant courtesy and professionalism. It is always a pleasure to deal with you and each visit to the stable, course or gallops a joy."

"What a fantastic day!... It was great to meet the other members, what a lovely bunch of people."

"Another brilliant win and a great day out for us all! Well done and many thanks to all the team."

''Congratulations on the new website. I love it.''

"I was delighted to watch the great win last night. What a great buzz! ... The joy of part owning a horse (however small) doesn't stop at that particular person"

''I can appreciate there has been a great deal of thought and planning gone into building the site, you have done an excellent job. Clean and easy to navigate too, which is a must for a user-friendly website.''

''Just viewed the website - it's great.''

HOW WE OPERATE:

  • All net prize-money won and the proceeds of any sale are divided proportionately between members.
  • Our owners are welcome to visit the yard to see their horses in training on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • One complimentary owners' badge is guaranteed per member when your horse runs.
  • There is no limit to the number of shares an individual, or group of people, can hold.
  • Some members have been with us since the 1980s, which is testament in itself to the enjoyment these syndicates bring.

Once a twelfth share has been purchased, a monthly payment of £250 to be paid retrospectively (starting from January 1st 2017) is required to cover all keep costs.

There will be nothing more to pay, other than in exceptional circumstances such as travel to race abroad or unusual veterinary bills. The monthly payment covers basic training costs, entry fees, travel to meetings, jockey fees, farrier's charges etc.

It is the responsibility of each individual member to sell his or her share, if they wish to leave the syndicate, although obviously we would help with this as far as possible. However, when a member sells their share it shall be on the understanding that potential purchasers will be made fully aware of the syndicator's  current terms and conditions. If payments are not received for two successive months the share will be deemed to have lapsed, and will be lost with no refund or prize share due.

Our aim is for every member to experience the joy of racehorse ownership:

- Why not give a share in one of our syndicates, as a birthday or Christmas present? It makes the perfect gift.

- We run each syndicate with the personal touch.

- Each member will be kept fully updated on the progress of their horse.

- We strive to create a sense of involvement for everyone, not only in their own horse but also in the whole stable.

We are constantly looking to put together new syndicates, so if you are interested in becoming involved, either in one of our present syndicates, or in the future, please contact:

Diane Carter, our racing secretary, on 07775 772524 or e-mail her on pa@marktompkins.co.uk
